𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 – 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞

Chinese New Year is approaching, and our partner factories in China will be closed from 11𝐭𝐡–24𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 2026 for the Year of the Horse (Fire Horse).

As with every CNY period, this creates disruption across the PCB supply chain. Most factories close for around two weeks, with freight forwarders, couriers, ports and airports also under increased pressure. As a result, lead times typically extend both before and after the holiday, and production capacity fills quickly as global demand peaks.

To help minimise disruption, we recommend:

𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 anything required for February or March should be booked as soon as possible

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 where forecasts are available — we can manufacture in advance and hold stock for call-off

𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 for both manufacturing and shipping across the CNY period

𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞-𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬

There is usually a strong push to move goods ahead of the shutdown, followed by a backlog once factories reopen. Transit times can also be affected after the holiday, particularly where shipments are released into an already congested logistics network.

For any urgent or time-critical requirements during the shutdown, we can explore UK and European manufacturing options, which remain operational throughout the CNY period and may provide a suitable alternative depending on specification and volume.
